The Jaws of Life tour made its stop in Reading, PA Saturday night. Pierce The Veil this year released their highly anticipated album, “The Jaws Of Life” after it had been seven years since their last release. Pierce The Veil are headlining with support from, L.S. Dunes, Dayseeker, and Destroy Boys.
Dayseeker and Destroy Boys both put on great sets that began to get the crowd warmed up. Then rock and rolls best kept secret, L.S. Dunes put on a show. The super group consists of members from, Circa Survive, My Chemical Romance, Thursday, and Coheed and Cambria. The first time I saw them was at the First Unitarian Church in Philly. This tiny little basement with a tiny little stage. L.S. Dunes are a must see band! Then came Pierce The Veil, a band I finally got to check off my bucket list of bands to photograph. I was stoked to be able to photograph a band I’ve been listening to since I was a teenager. Way before I had even gotten into photography. Finally getting this opportunity will be something I always remember.
Throughout the tour, prior to performing their song Hold On Till May, Vic has been taking the time to dedicate the song to a fan in the crowd. At this show though it would be extra special for one lucky fan. Vic brought on stage a girl named Ashley, who has probably been to more Pierce The Veil shows than anyone else. Not only would she be brought on stage but Vic would give her one of his guitars. While holding the newly gifted guitar she would get to sit on stage while the band played Hold On Till May.
While Pierce The Veil put on a great performance and I can’t wait for the next time I get to see them, I can’t help but feel like they should have had a longer setlist. 15 songs feels criminally short for a band like Pierce The Veil who have the discography like they do. No Bulls In Bronx, No Floral & Fading, Texas Is Forever, or The Divine Zero? Regardless, Pierce The Veil remains to be an emo classic for me that I will always enjoy seeing live.
