If you missed The Pixies and Modest Mouse in your town last year, you’re in luck–the two alternative acts are touring together again this summer.

The next leg of the tour began in Charleston, South Carolina, on May 31st and will finish up in Denver, Colorado, on June 30th.

In case you needed a refresher, The Pixies have been riding high with back-to-back tours since March 2022–apparently making up for lost time as many bands have been doing. With very few breaks in between, the band kicked off a world tour in support of their eighth studio album, Doggerel, released on September 30th, 2022. In May 2023, they began the first of what is now four legs of a North American tour, with Franz Ferdinand opening up the second. They would bring Modest Mouse in as co-headliner and Cat Power as an opener on the third leg that commenced in August 2023, and fans will get to see the same lineup this month.

Modest Mouse is in the process of celebrating the 20th anniversary of their monumental, Grammy Award-nominated record, Good News for People Who Love Bad News. Following the death of founding member and drummer Jeremiah Green in 2022, the band is keen on celebrating both their legacy and his. On May 17th, they released a 20th-anniversary deluxe edition of the album. Additionally, frontman Isaac Brock recently performed with another iconic ‘90s alternative band, Dinosaur Jr., in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their record Where You Been. Modest Mouse is also apparently gearing up to release new music in the next year, with Brock stating in an interview on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast this past April that he’s “pretty fucking happy with” the band’s followup to their 2021 EP The Golden Casket.

Both indie legends have been quite busy in the last few years, and last year’s tour was certainly a success. Round two of their run may be your final chance to see them together. Tickets are on sale now, and the remaining tour dates can be found below:
