For the second year in a row, Pierce The Veil performed at the Santander Arena in Reading, PA. Around the same time last year, Pierce The Veil were on their Jaws Of Life tour and made a stop in Reading with L.S. Dunes, Day Seeker, and Destroy Boys. This year, the San Diego rockers are back with a short fall tour of just four dates. With two of those nights taking place in Reading, I think the band might have found a second home here. They sold out the Saturday night show and still had a packed crowd Friday night. The openers for this year’s shows were Cavetown and Late Night Drive Home. Late Night Drive Home are an alternative/ indie rock band from El Paso, Texas. Meanwhile Cavetown is singer/songwriter Daniel “Robbie” Skinner from Oxford, UK.
Pierce The Veil continues to be one of my favorite bands to see live. It wasn’t too long ago where I was seeing them perform Collide with the Sky in full at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas. I only attended the first of two day festivals but I thought Pierce The Veil had one of the best performances of all the bands that day. This time in Reading I got to hear some of the newer songs I really enjoy like “Emergency Contact” and “Pass the Nirvana”. The only thing though I wish was that Pierce The Veil would have played more songs. A fifteen song setlist goes by pretty quickly, especially when you’re enjoying the show. I guess it’s excusable though when they perform as well as they do. It would be nice if they added “Bulletproof Love”, “Floral & Fading”, and “Texas Is Forever” to the set.
Concluding their short run of shows in Syracuse Sunday night, the band wiped all media from both the band and members Instagram pages. With recent teasers being displayed around multiple music venues, it seemed like the band had something big planned. Deciding to not keep fans waiting long, the band announced the “I Can’t Hear You World Tour”. Joining Pierce The Veil on this tour will be their longtime friends in Sleeping With Sirens as well as Daisy Grenade.
