The Front Bottoms: Champagne Jam 2024

The Front Bottoms continued their yearly tradition of hosting their show Champagne Jam. This year taking place at the Hard Rock hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The lineup between two stages featured Sweet Pill, Hey, Nothing, Glitterer, Kevin Devine and The Goddamn Band, Matt Pryor, Well Wisher, Chris Gethard, Benny Feldman, and Palamino. Beyond the music performances, Champagne Jam offered comedy sets, wrestling, balloon artists, and face painting.

While last year’s Champagne Jam ’23 took place in London, England. Just the year prior I attended Champagne Jam ’22 where The Front Bottoms played back to back nights at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. Now technically The Front Bottoms also hosted a Champagne Jam this year on the west coast with two nights in Anaheim, California. Imma just go ahead and pretend like that never happened though.

This year’s Champagne Jam I experienced may be one of the easiest layouts. The two stages right next to each other made it easy to go back and forth. When it was at the Fillmore in 2022 you had to go back and forth from the Fillmore Stage to The Foundry stage which meant going from one venue to another. One of my favorite repeats though this year from 2022 was the addition of Sweet Pill on the lineup. Easily one of Philadelphia’s best rising bands that you should check out.

The Front Bottoms would play a whopping 27 songs for their fans. That might have been one of the longest sets I’ve seen a band play. Covering a good range from their discography, there was still one song I wish they would have played and that’s “Swimming Pool”. Despite that one minoot critique, TFB continues to put on a fun show for their fans.
