Kingdom Collapse Takes Over Capone’s

As a cold front rolled into East Tennessee so did Kingdom Collapse’s Fall Uprising Tour.

On Tuesday night Kingdom Collapse brought their tour to Capone’s in Johnson City, Tennessee with special guests The Funeral Portrait and Versus Me. As fans made their way inside the historic venue to warm up, they were greeted by many members of each band casually hanging out by their merch tables. They all spent a good amount of time before and after their sets chatting and snapping pictures with adoring fans. One thing for certain is all the bands on this lineup care deeply about their fan base and never let them forget how much their support means to them.

Up first was Versus Me all the way from Janesville, Wisconsin. The four-piece currently consists of James Milbrandt on vocals, Dustin Hansen on guitar, Lee Milbrandt on bass guitar and J.J. Johnson holding it down on drums. The metalcore band started the night off strong with an undeniable amount of energy. There was now doubt that the Tennessee crowd was thoroughly warmed up by the end of their set.

The direct support for the tour is everyone’s favorite emo boys, The Funeral Portrait. I hadn’t heard of these guys until I caught them on tour with Palisades during the spring and I fell in love with them. I mean what’s not to like? Their devotion ceremonies are incomparable. They surveyed every inch of the stage and didn’t miss a beat when it came to crowd interaction. They performed several of their hits such as Flowers in the Attic which is about losing a loved one to suicide and their Tik Tok famous hit Voodo Doll.

Last but certainly not least, Kingdom Collapse took the intimate Tennessee venue by storm. The last time these guys graced the stage at Capone’s they were on tour with From Ashes to New, where they rocked the stage like true professionals. The Texas band has gained a considerable amount of traction since that tour which earned them a headlining tour of their own. Their vibe was infectious and they had no qualms about interacting with the crowd. Vocalist Jonathan Norris jumped onto the barricade several times to sing directly to the crowd even high-fiving and hugging fans during their set. Bassist Aaron Smith even snatched a fans phone to record a video with the rest of the members of the band on stage. The whole room was in awe during every moment of their performance, hanging on to each move they made. They performed several of their hit singles like Save Me From Myself, Unbreakable and Uprise but the song that had everyone screaming along to the loudest was Suffer. I was lucky enough to hang out with the guys after the show and I have to say they’re the sweetest and most humble group of dudes I have ever met. Their love for the fanbase runs deep.
