“Ripple Effect” is available on all streaming platforms.
On the eve of its release, I met with the very personable, David Cinnamon, on a typical gray day in Seattle to ask what inspired the new single.
In a lovely contrast, David was dressed in a multi-colored plaid shirt, jeans and matching blue green hair.
As we walked around the seemingly quiet Seattle Center, I mentioned how I felt listening to his single.
When I first listened to “Ripple Effect” I heard the influences of the early grunge era, mixed with a little bit of modern rock. David Cinnamon’s vocals are really unique and I haven’t heard anyone who compares. He has a gritty crackle in his voice but it adds a bit of vulnerability and sincerity during the more passionate parts of the song.
The meaning I received from the song was that in times of darkness you need to find someone or something to find your light and to be someone else’s light.
Q:What Inspired the song ‘Ripple Effect’?
David: “Ripple Effect” is the first track on our upcoming album, Manic State. The album is about my pursuit of health and wellness while navigating the challenges of bipolar disorder. Anyone who has mental health struggles knows the search for stability can be elusive. It’s a process that requires constant experimentation, adaptability, and…hope.”
“Ripple Effect” was inspired by the notion that all things in life are connected. Honoring that connection serves to make us more resilient – as individuals and as a human race. “Ripple Effect” is a rallying call: share your resources, share your story… “The future looks to you.”
Q:The last verse of the song you can really hear the passion in your voice. It’s beautiful. What are the words for our readers? I feel they could be important.
David: “Thank you! The words are:
