LA trio, Return To Dust is slated to release their debut EP, “The Black Road” on July 28th. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release after their second single from the EP “Belly Up” went viral on TikTok with over 2 million views.
Over all the EP has a cool flow and sounds like something out of the 90s (In the best way). The band throws a new twist on 90s-sounding riffs bringing the listener back in time. The groovy guitar with dark themes in the lyrics holds over every song on the EP.

The EP opens with the title track “Black Road”. Immediately I can hear the Alice in Chains influence from the opening chords alone. The dark tone shows through both lyrically and musically with haunting guitar tones.
“Belly Up” is their viral song that has gained the attention of over 60k on social media accounts.
“Anyway I Die” in the middle of the EP slows the pace down. The guitar sounds and slow pace makes me think of Godsmack. The dark theme continues here with lyrics to match:
“Can’t help me, Can’t help myself”
“Cellophane” is my personal favorite off of the EP. I feel the most emotion from the vocals in this track, especially in the chorus. The raw just shy of scream sound feels tortured.
Wrapping up the EP is “Losing Faith”. The outro of this song literally wraps the EP up with an ending that fits perfectly.
