The Athens-based band, Futurebirds, embarked on their musical journey by hosting more intimate music gatherings in local settings. As their fame grew, they made a deliberate choice to expand beyond their initial gatherings and introduce a larger-scale festival called “Highball.” Originally planned for 2020, after several years, everyone is thrilled that all the pieces have fallen into place, allowing them to finally host the event. Carter King, a member of Futurebirds, expresses the unique and enjoyable experience of organizing the festival alongside friends they’ve known since starting music and bands they’ve listened to since before then, all within the very state they grew up.
