It’s a red October in Philadelphia and on Tuesday night, 43,000 people packed into Citizens Bank Park to watch Phillies playoff baseball. Across the street, 62,000 soccer fans filled Lincoln Financial Field to watch Mexico vs Germany. Those events wouldn’t stop Don Broco from playing a sold out show at the Theater of Living Arts. Philadelphia was buzzing all night no matter what you were doing.
The Amazing Things North American Tour continues the celebration of Don Broco’s 2021 album “Amazing Things”. Just last month Don Broco also released their single, “Birthday Party”. The Home Team, Ryan Oakes, and The Color 8 are the openers for this current leg of the tour. While each artist received pops from the crowd, it was two brothers under the age of eleven that really stole the show. All night I watched these boys run back into the crowd to keep on surfing back to the front. Little did these kids know that they would end up crowdsurfing themselves right onto the stage. Vocalist Rob Damiani rewarded the boys for their hard work by inviting them onto the stage, calling them “massive legends”, and allowing them to watch from side stage after.
Each artist on this tour brings vastly different musical styles and influences that guarantees you’ll walk away liking someone new. Already being a fan of Don Broco I knew what to expect and they didn’t disappoint! I was already familiar with The Home Team but hadn’t seen them live. They were really fun to watch and I get why they’ve been unavoidable in my feeds and recommended. Ryan Oakes and The Color 8 were also both new to me and I thought they put on great performances. Any one of these artists are worth checking out!
