Alternative-pop band The Driver Era released a new single titled Malibu on July 28th.  The band also announced their third studio album, Summer Mixtape. The album is set to release on September 16th.  The duo, which consists of brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch, are also currently embarking on their 2022 headlining tour.

Malibu is a dreamy and upbeat track that perfectly encapsulates the rush of a hot summer fling.  The song will be featured on the band’s upcoming album Summer Mixtape and was released in conjunction with a music video.  Both the video and the song detail the bliss of a passionate and fast-paced relationship during the late summer months. The background is the romantic and enchanting beaches of Malibu, California.  

Malibu provides feelings of late summer nostalgia that are intertwined with the excitement of youthful romance.  The lyrics “Malibu / Lost in the way you move…Can’t stay away from you / Show me the light, deep in your eyes / I can’t deny, that’s paradise / Right here in Malibu” perfectly describe this.  The sunset kissed beaches of Malibu shown in the music video are as inviting as they are breathtaking, immersing the audience in 2 minutes and 48 seconds of late summer bliss.
