Summer vibes with Beach Weather in Seattle.

With Lovelytheband and Ava Maybee at the Showbox.

Seattle – Sunny skies and warm temperatures were the perfect backdrop outside Seattle’s historic Showbox at the Market as fans of Beach Weather, Ava Maybee, and Lovelytheband made a stop in the Emerald City for the “If We’re Being Honest Tour”.

The evening’s festivities kicked off with singer-songwriter, and former American Idol finalist, Ava Maybee. The California native was dressed in a bohemian-styled vest and her signature green beret. Prior to her 30-minute set, Ava took a moment to greet her super fans eagerly waiting along the barricade. During her performance, the crowd sang along to all her songs, but it was her cover of the Police’s 80s hit “Roxanne” that gained the most screams from the crowd. Ava thanked her fans for her support as they held up brightly decorated signs of devotion.

As the sun outside began to set, the temperature inside started to rise as the silhouetted figures of Beach Weather appeared on the stage. The American pop-rock band has been burning up the music charts and TikTok with their viral hit “Sex, Drugs, Etc.” Fans screamed as yellow stage lights illuminated lead singer, Nick Santino, dressed in a white cowboy hat, white satin shirt with a red necktie that matched the red flower in his hat. Sitting in the back in between two red curtains was drummer, Jeremy Wolda, with keyboardist, Alex Silverman, to his left. The band performed most of their songs off their debut album Pineapple Sunrise, including the fan favorites “Unlovable” and “High and Driving”. Bassist, Reeve Powers, appeared to be having the most fun onstage, jumping off the drum riser, and throwing his bass around with the most animated facial expressions and the crowd absolutely loved it! Santino remained reserved at first but built up the emotional intensity of his performance, stopping periodically in-between songs to speak to the crowd. During the second to last song, he placed his guitar aside and encouraged the crowd to start dancing. As the band played their set finale “Sex, Drugs, Etc.”, Santino danced from one corner of the stage to the other, as a barrage of laser beams franticly covered the crowd.

After a short intermission the headliners, Lovelytheband, opened their 90-minute set with the introduction to their latest album “If We are Being Honest”. The L.A based indie pop band is known for their 2017 chart-topping hit single “Broken” from their first EP, Everything I Could Never Say. The band has been steadily releasing music every year and has one of the most loyal fan bases in the music scene. Speaking to the crowd before performing “Coachella” lead singer, Mitch Collins, asked the crowd to pretend it was Friday night and to not think about it being a school night. Fans threw their hands into the air and danced their Monday night cares away on the dance floor.
