MGK rocked the house Saturday night at the Hard Rock Live Etess Arena in Atlantic City. The prolific rapper turned pop-punk sensation put on an electrifying performance, blending hits from his extensive discography.

Machine Gun Kelly

From the beginning, Colson Baker, professionally known as Machine Gun Kelly, had the crowd on their feet. He’s well renowned for his genre duality across alternative rock and rap. MGK released a total of four mixtapes between 2007 to 2010, before signing with Bad Boy Records. Some studio hip-hop/rap albums he released between 2012 to 2019 include Lace Up, General Admission, bloom, and Hotel Diablo. In 2020, MGK released Tickets To My Down Fall, collaborating with none other than Travis Barker, debuting a new sound that followed with the emo-rock album. Not to mention, this singer-songwriter is also an actor, starring in movies like Bird Box, Project Power, and One Way. MGK‘s multi-talented artistry makes for a dynamic figure in the entertainment industry.

MGK‘s ability to blend rap and pop-punk made for a unique performance. Opening with LONG TIME COMING, from his 2018 rap album BINGE, and following with newly released rap single PRESSURE. The audience went from starstruck to bouncing in unison within the span of two songs. His connection with the crowd was a standout feature of the night, he took moments in between songs to interact with his fans. At one point a fan offered MGK some hair gel and he jokingly questioned why they had it on them during the show, it was a funny interaction to witness. Songs like kiss kiss and bloody valentine, both off of Tickets To My Downfall, set an infectious energy for the remainder of the show. With striking visuals, vibrant lighting, and explosive pyrotechnics, the concert felt like a sensory overload in the best way possible. As the night drew to a end, MGK delivered a powerful encore including hits featuring blackbear like make up sex and my ex’s best friend, closing it off with sweet ode twin flame.
