Gracie Abrams in ATL

On March 20th, I had the pleasure of attending Gracie Abrams’ sold-out show at the Eastern, where I was able to capture the essence of her third-ever tour through photography. As soon as she took the stage, Gracie’s slower-paced songs and meaningful lyrics created a gloomy, eerie, and dreamlike atmosphere. Although her music is classified as “pop,” Gracie embodies the “sad girl” aesthetic in her lyrics, which resonates deeply with her fans.

Despite the somber tone, the energy in the room was full of vibrant colors and positive vibes, thanks to the overwhelming love from her fans. Gracie’s silhouette was cast in a darker hue against the blue lighting and fog that surrounded her grand entrance, which was an impressive sight to behold. It was clear that Gracie’s team had carefully planned the lighting, and I appreciated the use of lamps and light bulbs that turned on and off with certain beats, making her look ethereal under the strong spotlight.

Gracie’s debut studio album, “Good Riddance,” was released on February 24, 2023, and the “Good Riddance Tour” consists of 35 shows across North America and Europe, with openers “Tiny habits” accompanying her. The tour began on March 6 and will end on October 16. Personally, I had a fantastic time at the show and met some very kind people who assisted me with my camera gear and invited me to their local band shows. Her fans were in awe of Gracie, physically unable to look away from her for one moment, and freaked out when she waved in their direction. Some fans even lined up for hours before doors opened, eager to be as close to the stage as possible.

During the show, there was a specific song when everyone pulled out signs and sheets of paper with writing, showcasing the love and admiration her fans have for her. Set lists for her shows can be found on her website, along with future tour dates and ticket information. Overall, Gracie Abrams‘ performance was unforgettable, and her fans left the show feeling emotionally moved and connected to her music. If you can attend one of her shows, I highly recommend it.
