Nothing More Releases New Song and Music Video Featuring Lacey Sturm

On March 24th, Nothing More released a brand new version of their song BEST TIMES, along with an accompanying music video.  This new version also features guest vocals by Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf. The song is the 8th track off of their fourth studio album SPIRITS, which was released October 14th, 2022.

The song highlights a common flaw of the human existence. BEST TIMES is a harsh reminder of how fleeting life is and that you never truly appreciate the good times until they’re gone. The exhaustion and heartache we experience often leave us focusing on the negative aspects of life, and we forget about the beauty that is woven between them.

“They come and go // Like a dream // We never know // How much they mean”

“It’s bittersweet // How the best times aren’t the best times // until they leave”

BEST TIMES positively frames this phenomenon.  Lead singer Jonny Hawkins explains that the song is “definitely one of the most positive feel-good songs [they’ve] ever written” and that it “stands out on the album by being that ray of hope”.

The music video gives us an intimate look at a couple’s fight for love and forgiveness.  By the end of the video, they have reconnected and accepted each other despite their past.

BEST TIMES is a beautiful track that encourages us to stop and re-evaluate how we view ourselves and the world around us. But most of all, it reminds us to be mindful of how we treat those closest to us and to never take a single day for granted with those we love.
