The North Carolina band, Hollow Intent is set to release their single “Rise”, April 5th 2024. This has been a much anticipated release for me personally. I’ve been following Hollow Intent since they played Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2021. They’ve gone through some changes and this new single shows it…in the best way.

Immediately once the song hits it feels bouncy. I can see a room of people bouncing in my head. The riff is catchy and it has been stuck in my head for a couple of days now (I’m not complaining). The vocals remind me of Ben from Breaking Benjamin as Will’s vocals always have.
One lyric that stood out to me is “tell me this fighting is for nothing.” It really hits a spot emotionally for me.
The pre-break down hypes me up like a bull about to rage in a china shop. In short, you have a very bouncy bull about to throw down. I cannot wait for a chance to hear this live.

I really love the over all sound of this song. It is so METALCORE (my undying love of metalcore is no secret). It’s so different from anything else Hollow Intent has put out and I think it really show cases the new members of the group and the direction musically they are going.
