New Mexico’s famous spring winds brought Grammy award winning Reckless Kelly through downtown Albuquerque Friday. Support was provided by Hooks and The Huckleberries, a local favorite.
Hooks and The Huckleberries are Adam Hooks (vocals, guitar), Joshua Lee (guitar), Ryan Martin on bass and Dustin Hoag providing rhythm.
I’ve caught these guys a few times locally and they have always put on a great show. A high energy stage presence feels like old friends are playing. Austin’s Reckless Kelly has been making music and touring since the mid 90’s.
Brothers Cody and Willie Braun have deep roots in music, playing and touring professionally since childhood. With strong connections to and mentoring by some of Americana’s legends, Reckless Kelly has established themselves as one of today’s top acts. The commitment to their craft is evident in each song performed, with the crowd at the Launchpad eager to hear the band play favorite songs live. The band put on a great performance, with a good sampling of their catalog played. Several veteran fans were in attendance with the early Restless Kelly merch worn as a badge of honor.
