Lately, I’ve been thrown back to middle school and high school time after time. That time of life is when I found my love of music. I never got the chance to see the bands I loved so much live. As a 30 something mom of 4 now, it’s been my time to hit as many bucket lists bands as I can. When I saw The Devil Wears Prada was hitting Baltimore Soundstage, obviously I had to be there.
Dying Wish
Openers for this tour is Dying Wish. Truthfully, I had heard of them before but never actually listened. I’ve been missing out. Front woman Emma Boster has an energy that got the crowd moving easily as the pit broke out. Her jump kicks mid song are second to none and their sound is down right NASTY (in the best way possible). “Heavy” is the word that was flashing in my head during their set.
Stray From The Path
Direct support for this tour is Stray From The Path. They have a very nu metal feel mixing dirty vocals and rap and have been called “Rapecore”. Growing up in the 2000s I immediately loved the sound. They have a Fever 333 feel not only in sound but in the energy and movement from the stage. Vocalist, Andrew Dijorio announced they’d be filming a music video. The crowd WENT OFF. Towards the end of the song, he stood in front and dove into the packed Soundstage room and crowd surfed.
The Devil Wears Prada
There’s something about live music that just hits differently than recorded. The Devil Wears Prada just isn’t properly done justice until you’ve heard them live and this is coming from a fan since the mid 2000s. Powering into their set with “Sacrifice” from their upcoming album eighth album “Color Decay”. The heavy sound and high energy right off the bat had Soundstage going absolutely insane. The 21 song set was heavily from the 2010 “Zombie EP” and “ZII”. They powered back through an encore with “Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over” and “Mammoth”.
