Metalcore kings Veil of Maya set out for a winter tour mid January. Directly supporting on this run is the deathcore group Angelmaker. I had Veil of Maya on my “must see” list for Blue Ridge Rock Festival in 2023. They were scheduled to play the Saturday of the fest but as we all know Saturday didn’t happen. When I saw they were coming through my hometown venue Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center, obviously I had to go.
Angelmaker
Angelmaker is a name that had popped up on some of my Spotify daily mixes several times over the last year or so. The Canadian deathcore group was a downright FUN direct support for this tour. Their energy was amazing and the chemistry the two vocalists have together on stage is something that I haven’t seen before.
Veil of Maya
Veil of Maya began their set with “Wounds” and called for crowd surfers right away. It was chaos. Beautiful, wonderful, heavy CHAOS. I scooted out of the way and shot the crowd as the sufers came over and over and over again. I’m so glad I was able to finally check this band off my list of must see, must shoot bands.
