This tour was indeed, full of friends. So full that it was SOLD OUT. Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center (HMAC) is one of my favorite local venues. It’s a small spot, but brings in huge acts. It’s the coolest old building. When the Capitol Room gets filled, the floor bows a bit and it makes the mosh pit like a trampoline.
We were definitely bouncing all night.
I’d also like to shimmy in here that I dropped my camera before the show started and most of these were taken on a completely cracked, busted lens filter. But it made for a wicked cool effect.
NERV
Opening for the All My Friends tour was NERV. They’re a happy mix of metalcore and rock and had a great energy to get people to wake up for the coming acts.
The Word Alive
The Word Alive was up next. Now, after seeing vocalist Telle speak at a musicians clinic at Heartsupport fest 2023, I have had the utmost respect and admiration for this fellow. Hearing him speak about how he writes, why he writes, etc really gave me a different perspective. Seeing him preform with the rest of the guys always gives me warm happy feelings.
Memphis May Fire
Flame free confession, Memphis May Fire was my favorite set of the night. These guys always BRING IT and this was no exception. From the lights, to the high energy and everything in between the floor was a trampoline and every one in the room loved it. This was definitely a set I sang along with the whole time I was shimmying through the packed photo pit.
Asking Alexandria
And then it was finally time for Asking Alexandria to take the stage. The last time I had seen them was Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2021. After photographing their set I found myself sitting in an open big rid trailer perfectly above the crowd watching the rest of the set. It was magic.
This was such a different experience and equally as magic. Being down IN the crowd has an entirely different energy. I was SO happy with the set list. The Final Episode, Alone In A Room and Someone, Somewhere? HELL YEA.
