No one truly understands how hard it is to start a band all from scratch like Ivypaint. Some bands take a few months to get started and some take years. For the members of Ivypaint it’s only been about 3 1/2 years in the making and they’ve already made a name for themselves.
On August 3, 2018, Sean Van Duong released a song titled “Little Liaison,” and it all grew from there. The Orlando, Florida-based pop punk band has truly worked from the ground up and even have a song titled “50/50” which features Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens!
On January 7, 2022, Ivypaint released their newest single “Buggin Out”. The song was written by Duong along with Jacob Craddock, Jason Flanders, Marco Estorino, and Micah Rojas. “Buggin Out” is about a failing relationship that’s falling into a toxic pattern of fighting and making up and then fighting again. There’s that false hope of somehow making it all right, but there’s unfortunately no solution besides inevitably calling it quits instead of prolonging the negativities between each other.
Overall “Buggin Out” is definitely in my top 3 favorite Ivypaint songs. The band did an amazing job with the lyrics and the ad libs. The overall sound definitely brings out the best of the band and does a good job showcasing the boys’ vocals.
