Christmas Burns Red Day 2

Day two of Christmas Burns Red was a different flavor of awesome to Day 1. More bands that only get together for one off’s, more amazing metalcore, more of an amazing performances by one of the biggest names in metalcore.

Kaonashi

Until this show I had been very unfamiliar with Kaonashi. The vocals alone are truly a unique sound that I literally cannot compare to anything else. Continuing with the PA natives for the hometown show, the Philly guys put on a hell of a show. They know how to hype a crowd and was perfect to open the night.

Signs of the Swarm

Signs of the Swarm was another one I was unfamiliar with until this show. THEY WERE SO HEAVY. Yes, so heavy I had to scream about it. Perfect bit of deathcore for the evening and also, another PA based group.

Galactic Empire

One of the most unique groups in the scene right now, Galactic Empire, was up next. As a Star Wars fan I was looking forward to this one. Putting my love of metal and nerdiness together was a journey I didn’t realize I needed.

Kublai Kahn

Truthfully, Kublai Kahn was my entire motivation for going this weekend. I’ve been trying to see them for nearly three years now and it has just never worked out for one reason or another. I had a massive infernal struggle when they played “Swan Song” as the second song of their set. Every piece of me to my core wanted to throw my camera and yeet myself into the pit. I stayed strong and finished shooting my three songs and THEN yeeted myself into the pit. The hardcore dancing was on point for the night. It was truly a core memory for me and the highlight of my weekend.

Between The Buried And Me

Prog kings, Between the Buried and Me, played their forth album “Colors” front to back. Those that are fans were ESTATIC for this.

August Burns Red

And rounding out the weekend was another set from metalcore gods, August Burns Red. They played a completely different set from the night before with easily matched insane energy.
