Indie-rock band, Kenny Hada & The Others, is set to release a new single this Friday, two weeks before their debut album, Love Deluge, hits streaming services.
The track, “Hair Trigger,” starts off strong with inviting instrumentals and lyrics that quickly make listeners aware of the song’s overall theme. The band uses the track’s 4 minute 27 second runtime to create a relatable tune that demonstrates the emotional stress the world has been dealing with over the last two years. However, the composition makes light of the subject, if you will, and successfully gets its message across without becoming desolate. Hada’s vocals accompanied by “The Others” (guitarist Jim Briggs, bassist Micaiah Navarrete, and drummer Brandon Custer ), and a notable electric guitar solo, deliver a contrasting yet beautiful piece of music that, to me, sounds like something that should be drawing us into an upbeat 80s movie.
Formed in Austin, TX in 2020, the band describes their sound as “alternative blues,” and their work is derived from the feelings that the time of COVID and quarantine brought about, coupled with Hada’s personal joy as he welcomed his first child into the world. “Hair Trigger” effectively supports the band’s established genre and mission, and is truly a fun track to stream this year.
