Korn at the Hershey Giant Center

After releasing their 14th album Requiem on February 4, 2022 the legendary band, Korn took off on their national tour that kicked off March 3rd, 2022. The 19 date tour with special guests Code Orange and Chevelle rolled in to Hershey, Pennsylvania on March 15th. Pittsburgh Pennsylvania natives, Code Orange came in to open with their industrial metal sound and lit up the stage. The energy of the band was infectious as a mosh pit broke out almost immediately.

The crowd was well warmed up when Chevelle took the stage. The infectious energy continued as the screens were lit with images of aliens and men in space suits. The Illinois alternative metal group holds two members, brothers Pete (Lead vocals/guitar) and Sam (drums) Loeffler along side touring bassist Kemble Walters. The arena had visibly become fuller and the crowd could be heard singing along with Pete as the set continued.

At 9:10p the lights went down and a white sheet in front of the stage was illuminated. Soon, silhouettes of the band members walking on stage began flashing behind the sheet. The excitement was building until the word “Korn” took over the front of the stage. Just then, the sheet dropped and the band laid into the song “Forgotten” from their new album. Jonathan Davis shouted out to Hershey and the crowd went wild. He said “It’s good to be back. They can’t take live music from us again. The world is fucked up. But, the one thing we can agree on is music. And here we are.”
Davis has a commanding stage presence that could be felt to the very top of the arena. Before beginning “No One’s There” he mentioned the album Untouchables was celebrating 20 years this year. After an hour and a half long set the nu-metal band ended with “Freak On A Leash”.

Over all, the set was incredible and as always, Korn put on an amazing, energetic show. It was my second time seeing them and certainly won’t be the last!
