They say every good horror story has a sequel, but what about a trilogy?
If you haven’t read part one and two of our investigation, you have some catching up to do before reading this chilling story!
When we last left off we had just discovered that Georgie was still alive and it seemed that someone was taking advantage of Ice Nine Kills‘ love of all things horror. In December of 2021, Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White and Black Veil Brides revealed that they would be co-headlining a spring tour, termed the Trinity of Terror Tour. With a name like that, there was bound to be more bloodshed. Since we vowed to prove Spencer and INK’s innocence there was no doubt I had to go undercover once again to attempt to clear their name.
TRINITY OF TERROR TOUR
PIKEVILLE, KY
Since there were 3 headliners this time, I knew I couldn’t do it alone so I enlisted the help of Destiny who we ran into at the last show. After waiting for four long months, the day had finally come for us to set out on the dark and twisted journey to Pikeville, KY to begin our investigation. On the way, we drove through some dreadful storms that included hail, torrential rainfall and even snow. It already felt like a sinister force was trying to keep us away. But we powered through and arrived at the Appalachian Wireless Arena around 5pm, hellbent on completing our mission.
The support act for the tour, Lilith Czar, formerly known as Juliet Simms, rebranded herself in 2021 before releasing her album Created From Filth and Dust, under Sumerian Records. The dark haired songstress graced the AWA stage at 6:30 on the dot, dressed in a gorgeous black one piece and fringed leather jacket. She opened with her ever so fitting single, Feed My Choas and as she waved to adoring fans, they went wild and thunderously screamed, “we love you Lilith”. The Kentucky crowd got an absolutely flawless performance of Stevie Nicks Edge of Seventeen in addition to, 100 Little Deaths, King, Unholy and Anarchy from her new album. Lilith’s stage presence was exquisite and commanding. Her backing band held their own, matching her impeccable energy and vibe.
Halfway through her set Lilith gave a finely crafted speech about female empowerment, that had every lady in the room ready to conquer the world and rule as kings. According to Jewish folklore Lilith was the first independent woman created. In the creation story she refused to allow Adam to dominate her and fled the garden despite the dire consequences of her actions. So you can’t help but think after such a powerful keynote, that maybe she is the mastermind behind the whole thing! Could this be about revenge? Does she have plans to take down all the men of terror and horror to rule as king herself? If so, count me in!

I decided to keep my eyes on the audience for the remainder of the night to see if anyone was brave enough to make a move. Luckily Destiny was there to keep a watchful eye on Motionless In White, Ice Nine Kills and Black Veil Brides though.
Keep reading to uncover her findings if you dare!
After Lilith’s empowering set, I could hardly contain my emotions which included an uncertain mixture of anxiety and excitement. Having witnessed all three headliners perform in the past, I knew the crowd was about to be slaughtered. I mean, how insane is it that some of the biggest names in gothic rock and metalcore joined forces to wreak havoc across the country? This was not a coincidental, “schedules falling-into-place” situation; this was calculated.
Suddenly, the lights went out and my thoughts halted. A familiar music box chime signaled Motionless In White was taking the stage. “Get up! Get up!” set the crowd ablaze, and the bloodbath had officially commenced.
With a set packed full of fan favorites like Rats, Voices, Thoughts & Prayers, Another Life, their cover of The Killers’ Somebody Told Me, and a new single, Cyberhex, Motionless utilized every second they had on stage to appease fans.
Their onstage visuals had changed drastically since I saw their show in September of 2021. The band now donned Cyberhex-inspired outfits rather than their previous Thoughts & Prayers get up, the screen behind them showcased lyrics and some iconic MIW graphics. Masked characters and Alice Cooper-esque puppets even embellished the stage, bringing the crowd a more immersive and cinematic experience. Perhaps they’ve taken some inspiration from their friends in Ice Nine Kills?
If their stage presence and impressive performance wasn’t enough, the band’s interaction with the fans was sure to have them apprehended for the rest of the night. Frontman, Chris Motionless, encouraged singalongs and delivered a few comments between songs that had everyone smiling and cheering. They loved it! Nothing seemed too unusual, until I surveilled the other members of the band and took note of bassist, Justin Morrow’s, absence. Formerly the bassist for Ice Nine Kills, Justin has been touring with Motionless for nearly three years; should I be worried? Where could he be? Although the rest of the band was never a step off their game, they seemed to be giving it their absolute all: Vinny Mauro was slaying the drums while Ricky Olson and Ryan Sitkowski annihilated their guitars and backed Chris’s vocals.
Motionless In White closed out their performance with Eternally Yours, and Chris tossed a dozen roses into the crowd, a perfect, unsuspecting send off and introduction to our next group of suspects, Ice Nine Kills.

Ash and I are obviously no strangers to an Ice Nine Kills shows at this point, so we mostly knew what to expect, or did we?
The familiar, chilling Texas Chainsaw-like intro of Opening Night, started things off, and the crowd went mad. I couldn’t stay in my seat. Spencer Charnas and his bandmates had every soul immediately incarcerated, once again.
Who cares if it bleeds beyond the screen?
Guitarists, Ricky Armellino and Chris Kelly, and bassist, Joe Occhiuti, surveyed all parts of the stage in various masks, influencing fans to jump, scream, and rock out with them. Patrick Galante perched above his fellow cohorts affront his drum kit, never missed a beat.
This set was similar to what we witnessed in Covington, KY last December, but they gave us a few surprises this time around, with the addition of their heaviest singles, Take Your Pick and Wurst Vacation slipped into their setlist. We also saw some upgrades to their digital graphics and onstage ensembles, with Spencer donning the iconic Freddy Krueger hat during The American Nightmare and Shevy, the band’s makeup artist and onstage actress, getting butchered behind a shower curtain in true Psycho fashion during The Shower Scene.
Despite several brutal killings throughout their set, it appeared that Georgie was still very much alive and well, and even Chris Laplante, who appeared to meet his demise during both Hip to Be Scared and Wurst Vacation, was still going strong backstage.
I went into this performance with such alertness, but I must stick to my original claim that Spencer Charnas is as innocent as they come and just wants to put on a phenomenal show for his dedicated fans. As far as his touring mates, who knows? I firmly believe someone is trying to frame Mr. Charnas for the heinous crimes that are following his namesake. With only one act left, I was nervously waiting for anything out of the ordinary to occur.

Around 10:00, five final silhouettes filled the blood red stage. This was Black Veil Brides’ second show back after taking time off to recover from sickness. Sporting tight, studded leather clothes, the metal quintet was greeted by rowdy chanting, “Black Veil Brides! Black Veil Brides!” The crowd was more than ready for the final production of the evening.
Andy Biersack quickly seized the hearts of those that remained with his effortless, yet energetic performance. CC took the atmosphere to another level on the drums while Jake Pitts led with his exquisite guitar skills, in addition to Jinxx, who surprised everyone with an impressive violin solo. At this point, I’ve noticed the absence of BVB’s bassist, Lonny Eagleton, as well. Am I sensing a theme here? Why is it that only INK’s permanent bassist was available to perform?
I put my suspicious thoughts aside and meticulously recorded their every move.
Black Veil Brides jam-packed their set with new and old favorites like Faithless, Knives and Pens, Crimson Skies, The Legacy, Scarlet Cross, and Fallen Angels, giving the Pikeville crowd exactly what they came for, which influenced a final hoorah of moshing, crowd surfing, and screams. Their Phantom Tomorrow visuals created a scene straight from a graphic novel, and we were the bystanders, cheering on the saviors. In this moment, they seemed like the heroes in this senseless bloodbath. Perhaps nothing was out of the ordinary after all, and the kings of terror had simply united to put on an innocent and immersive show for all their horror and metal-loving fans alike to get lost in.

Once the four hour bloodless show concluded, Destiny and I decided to reconvene in the parking garage to discuss our findings. The first person of interest was, Lilith Czar. We immediately decide to cross her off the list as it seemed her mission was to remind us ladies that even in a mans world we can be King. Up next was Motionless in White. Though they would make the perfect unassuming suspects, the guys really just want to be Eternally Yours. Black Veil Brides threw us for a loop though. We went back and forth for some time, but In the End we decided they couldn’t possibly be guilty of such heinous crimes! Last but not least, the persons of interest themselves, Ice nine Kills. Though the band partook in multiple onstage slayings, it seemed they were all for show, I mean after all, it’s Hip to Be Scared.
As we began to pack up our evidence board, I felt someone brush past me, at first I think nothing of it until I saw the look of panic on Destiny’s face. I turned to confront the figure behind me, I was now face to face with the silence masked killer himself, ‘with an axe in one hand and knife in the other‘! I felt my knees buckle beneath me. It surely can’t be! My eyes must have been deceiving me! Before I could even make the decision to fight or flee, the anonymous villain vanished into the night sky. Had they been watching us the whole night, waiting for us to leave to make their move?!
On the days that proceeded, we anxiously checked the Horrorwood Harrold, expecting another headlining death, but to our surprise there’s been radio silence and the tour has continued without fail.
What do you think? Will the real killer make another move before we can prove Spencer’s innocence or are we closer than ever to proving the captain wrong?!
Help us gather evidence by attending a show near you and reporting your findings!
