Knocked Loose brings “A Tear In The Fabric Of Life” to Starland Ballroom

Knocked Loose

Knocked Loose is composed of Bryan Garris (Vocals), Isaac Hale (Guitar), Kevin Otten (Bass), Kevin Kaine (Drums), and Nicko Calderon (Guitar). The hardcore band from Oldham, Kentucky has spent the last nine years truly making name for themselves. In 2016 the band released their debut album “Laugh Tracks” which caught the attention of many people in the metal community. Three years later they would release their sophomore album, “A Different Shade of Blue“. Then in late 2021 came “A Tear in the Fabric of Life” an EP that would solidify the band as a staple to the hardcore and metal community.

The year is 2017 and I’m photographing a show for only my second time. The tour was Every Time I Die with Knocked Loose, Harm’s Way, and Eternal Sleep. At the time I wondered what the hell I had gotten myself into as that show would be my introduction to hardcore music. With no barricade by the time Knocked Loose hit the stage, the photographers for their own safety had to shoot from the side stage. I share this story because at the time I had no clue who Knocked Loose even was and now they’re a band I’ve grown to love.

Knocked Loose has come such a long way since the band’s inception. From 500+ capacity venues without barricades to now selling out 2,500+ capacity venues and having full on stage production. The sky’s the limit for this band that absolutely refuses to fail. The show lived up to all the hype as well. There wasn’t a moment where fans weren’t crowd surfing or moshing along to each heavy banger. From the moment the lights went dark and the audio track queueing the start of Where Light Divides the Holler it was game on.
