Nothing More & Wage War Team Up For a North American Tour

On April 16th, 2024 Nothing More and Wage War kicked off their coheadliner tour in Charlotte, NC alongside supporting acts Veil of Maya and Sleep Theory. The tour also sold out The Fillmore on their opening night of the tour. With 2000 fans wrapped around the block buzzing with excitement this was sure to be a great show.

Memphis-based band, Sleep Theory, is starting to make its hold on the scene since its inception in 2019. The hard rock band has also seen major success lately with the release of their track “Numb”, their second to hit #1 on SiriusXM’s Octane. These guys were a great opening start to the night and it was the fastest I’ve seen a crowd “wake up” for an opening band in a long time. I think it might have been the most crowd surfers for an opener I’ve seen in my life. We only managed to shoot the first two songs before security had to ask the media to step out of the pit for safety reasons. You can find their music here.

Sleep Theory Setlist: Fallout // Enough // Paralyzed // Gone Or Staying // Stuck In My Head // Numb

Veil of Maya isn’t new to this, the metalcore band has been around for 20 years and continues to evolve. Originally their sound could be described as a deathcore band. Still, with the release of their latest album Matriarch (via Sumerian), they have become more sonically aligned with the metalcore and djent subgenres. Yet again, the crowd surfers continued to pour over the barricade as Veil of Maya’s set ramped up. If you haven’t seen these guys live before, it’s worth making the trip to the nearest date of the tour just for them alone. You can find their music here.

Veil of Maya Setlist: Tokyo Chainsaw // Artificial Dose // Godhead // Outrun // Outsider // Red Fur // Mikasa

The first word I would use to describe Nothing More is relentless. The rock band hails from San Antonio, Texas formed in 2003. This is where the band spent most of the 2000s recording independent albums while trying to gain the interest of labels and settling on a consistent lineup. Jonny Hawkins (lead vocals, founding member) didn’t start as a vocalist but spent the band’s first 6 years as the drummer before stepping up to become the band’s frontman. I highly recommend delving further into their history if you have the time, these guys have had quite the battle. Nothing More has always put on a great live show and tonight was no different. I have always enjoyed their interactions with fans, like when they bring the band into the crowd, it’s a unique performance. These guys gave the fans an amazing opening night to this tour and they have a ton of shows left for you all to see them at. Nothing More consists of Jonny Hawkins (lead vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar, backing vocals), Daniel Oliver (bass, backing vocals), and Ben Anderson (drums, percussion). You can find their music here.

Nothing More Setlist: If It Doesn’t Hurt // Let ‘em Burn // Don’t Stop // Angel Song // Go To War // Tired of Winning // Ships in the Night // House on Sand (live debut) // SPIRITS // Jenny // Fadein/Fadeout // Ocean Floor // This Is The Time (Ballast)

Wage War is a metalcore band formed in Ocala, Florida in 2010 originally named Empires. The band renamed the Wage War before being signed to Fearless Records in 2015. These guys have a special connection within their band, featuring a consistent lineup for the last eleven years.  Tonight’s crowd was as fired up as they could be with Wage War taking the stage now. This was a true example of one hundred percent crowd participation along with every song lyric and instruction from vocalist Briton Bond. They were a great way to cap off the first night of this tour and I recommend you go see them live. You can find their music here.

Wage War Setlist: Stitch // Low // Gravity // High Horse // Godspeed // MAGNETIC // Prison // Teeth // The River // Alive // True Colors // Death Roll // Nail5 // Circle The Drain // Manic
